Is the Ear Trompet a Part of Galileo's Invention?
The ear trumpet has a similar shape, like a long tube, as the telescope. Students of galileo wanted to see whether they could indeed make an instrument analogous to the telescope - but bring sound closer. And that's what they did. Later on, in the seventeenth century, robert hook actually makes an ear trumpet of glass to, again, imitate the telescope.
