The Evolution of Mitochondria

We have mutations occurring all the time in our bodies and cells. Mutations will arise, and then the other genome has to compensate somehow for this miscommunication. Everything that we do depends not just on energy, but on these building blocks. Viruses are notorious for causing cancer, but their interest is similar to a cancer cell's: It wants to make copies of itself. To do that, they want the mitochondria. They want to switch the gearing of the mitochondria effectively to make more viruses.
