The Importance of a PhD in Technology
I feel like pursuing a PhD is much more demanding and would require taking a break from the industry. I think in the field that we are, it's much more interesting to take these kind of technologies and productize them at scale than researching. So you would think that applying the models being created by the larger companies or open source efforts is more valuable than trying to create better models. It's just at the moment I feel I am at the place where things happen, but it might change. The driving forces of this field, as we see again and again, comes from not from academia, but from companies because it's very resource demanding.
