And i think they've been in the shadow of their coward killer for too long. To day, abraham lincoln is remembered as the great emancipator. But in his time, his stance on slavery was more complicated. He was personally opposedto institution. As he takes office and confronts the threat of secession, l Lincoln is clear he is not going to try to end slavery in the southern states.
