You're a Spotted Unicorn in Your Industry
A lot of times people can find themselves in a situation where they're the only person who looks like them. So I kind of started calling myself the spotted unicorn because I was usually the only black person in a room. And now I like thinking about it from the internal side first from the inside out. It's, and you know, for me coming as a black man in this industry too, I can definitely empathize with how you're feeling in that situation.
