How Do Tartegrades Survive in Space?

Tartegrades have been tested to survive up to ten days in raw outer space. They can be desicated, shrivelled up and when put back in water, they act like nothing happened. When a tarte gate is dried up, it's called crypto biosis, which i love. This is an important piece of information when you're deducing why tartegrades are so hardy.
