Zionism emerges not as a result of the Holocaust, but because Europe was unsustainable. The Jews had been coming for decades before and they had been buying land. By 1942, by 1939, the Jews in Palestine have built a state in waiting. It's a misperception to say that the Holocaust was the impetus for the state of Israel.
