I had a similar experience in the defalt destot one, where it told me there were some up dates, and then synaptic popped up. I don't really know anything about the project, and that's no fault of their own. That's just me not being educated about these things. But coming from that point of naivety and some unfair preconceptions about maybe what it was doing, i just didn't feel really easy with it. T let's spin the wheel. What's this? Abunto chillin.
