The Highlands of Scotland and the British Isles
After the final fail of the jacobite cause, there was a further flood of enclosures and highland clearances. The government endeavored to suppress the scottish way of life by banning kilts, bagpipes and so forth. Many people emigrated to find opportunities or serve as mercenaries in british territories all over the world. A lot of these emigrants brought with them a sort of lore and communal memories of scotland.
