The Importance of Virtue Signaling

A lot of very good stuff is done probably in part motivated by virtue signaling. Wishing to appear virtuous is, you know, and wishing to maintain a reputation for virtue is probably drives an enormous amount of pro-social and valuable behavior. The intention behind it's pretty damn decent but I mean, I think it can get derailed. If you want to signal that you care about a problem, you tackle it head on and you go straight for it, you know? Now sometimes that's possibly the best way to tackle a problem. But if it's a persistent problem, it possibly isn't.
