The caching service is what makes scrolling on primal silky smooth. Otherwise, you're fetching from relays and hitting a number of different relays to get the feed. There's also an indexing problem as well, because you don't know specific relay has all the data. You can't quickly see how many likes a certain post. The whole way a noster client works is manually pulling from 10 relays or however many relays you have said.
