I'm more okay with doing things in a sort of like MVP style working. And I think that maybe is more of just a culture thing. Like, you know, try things learn a lot and then like fix it and then like do it again. That was really absent from in my life before I left academia. It's kind of an art form to be able to argue for something that isn't actually true.

Arden Koehler is a researcher and writer at 80,000 Hours, a nonprofit whose mission is to help people use their careers to help solve the world's most pressing problems, and an active member of the effective altruism community. Arden has a PhD in philosophy from New York University, with a specialisation in ethics and attitudes toward time, and a B.A. in philosophy from University of California, Berkeley.
