Standardized Assessments of Students in Finnish Schools

Finland's education system is designed from the children's perspective. Every child is presumed to have talent and most benefit from special education. Children are not streamed nor do they undergo externally moderated, standardized tests until age 18. Why is this a better root to good outcomes for all children than more competition?
