The Importance of Exercise for Brain Health
Tryptophan is an amino acid found in chocolate, chickpeas and red meat. Without tryptophan you can't then get that conversion into serotonin. It's also present throughout the body, not just within the brain. Exercise increases a neurotrophic factor called BDNF or brain derived neurotrophic factor. This means when you exercise your muscle tissues release more of this positive stress.
