The Importance of Accuracy Estimates in Physics
In psychology we might wonder is there the same level of detail and strict adherence to, to some extent, strict adherence to the methodology of science in this respect. We are observing things at the very limit of the power of our instrumentation. Despite that we have extremely precise instruments but with extremely precise instruments come quantifiable uncertainties. In fact, reporting your result without also making an accuracy estimate makes your report strictly meaningless. Accuracy estimates are commonplace in physics. They are absolutely routine. Not every other area of purported science can make the claim that physics does in being able to quantify its uncertainty or doing as well with uncertainties as what physics does.
