The Advantages of Working for Obama
I spoke Russian and lived there many, many times. So it was not my first rodeo. I'm an academic. I've published tens of thousands of pages on Russia. Some of them had read my book. Sure. And I was a part of their training to get ready to go to Moscow. Those were advantages I had. But some places, especially with the senior diplomatic corps, people who had been, probably thought that they should be ambassador. That exists in pretty much every industry though. There's always somebody who thinks it is a reward. It's good.
