Ivy Lee was a PR man and one of the trailblazers of that profession. He worked for John D. Rockefeller in the early 1900s. His company came into conflict with the United Mine Workers of America, a union who wanted better pay and conditions in exchange for dying and mining disasters. The union went on strike and set up a gigantic tent colony outside of the town of Ludlow, Colorado for themselves and their families.
