In 2012, the case was made that Lance Armstrong had been doping for much of his entire career. The idea of him being a courageous icon shattered. Former teammates that refused to dope claimed that they got pay cuts or were shunned when she spoke out. A woman named Stephanie Mick Ilvane left this thoughtful little message on her answering machine: "I hope that somebody breaks a baseball bat over your head"
