It's not clear that those more surprising bits in the road to serfdom that he wrote in 1944. I mean, there is also the way in which people's ideas can change but also calcify or become caricatours of themselves. We might have a different year of him if the story finished where this book finishes. He was born with such a thing with a right-wing personality. And I think that was evident all along in a way and that I'm not sure that he really realized that his theory of markets didn't necessarily point in the direction that he wanted it to.
