The moonlight is going round once every 12 hours, and they're hoping to change its orbit by at least 73 seconds. One of the scientists was jokingly handed to do shaped fringe magnet because there was a chance tat the small asteroid could be shaped so weirdly it might have a hole in the middle. Will it still be cohesive enough to take that impact, transfer the momentum and deflect it? No one actually knows the answers to any of these questions, so that's why they're decides.
Scientists are constantly searching for asteroids that could crash into Earth. But if they find one, will they be able to do anything about it? NASA has launched a spaceship that will slam into an asteroid to find out.
