The rule of thumb that I recommend is six to eight at minimum so that you have at least two full meals and three is even okay. The research on alternate daily fasting did not have any restriction on the update like they didn't have a window. They just were like one day you don't need the next day you do. So if you're slightly eating on updates, you're doing it right.
