Are These Two Pictures Really Before and After?
The famous before and after of a little boy at residential school. The images were used in the dominion of canada's 18 97 indian affairs report as a piece of propaganda to illustrate the strengths and benefits of schools. But are these two pictures really before and after? And more importantly, why, despite their popularity, do we still know so little about the boy in the picture? Lea took it upon herself to figure out what this child's name was, the dates that these photos were taken, where he's from, and what these very famous images can tell us.
