The guide stones weren't on private property. RC Christian gave it to Elbert County. So that isn't private property since its government owned in theory. All that would have been needed was the county commissioners getting petitioned and following some legal channels to get them removed. That never happened because they were helpful in terms of bringing visitors to the area, which helped local businesses. It's interesting that these people don't really understand free speech dynamics on either side of the coin. This absolutely could have been speech that would be subject to censorship.
