Neuronal Neurotransmitters Produce Cytokine HMGB1
T cells produce acetylcholine, which was first discovered as a neurotransmitter. Now we know actually neurons, not only can respond but I think they can produce at least some cells in the brain can produce some of these cytokines. And you know peripheral neurons can produce cytokines too so a year or two ago my colleague Juan Yang and saying Edith Chivan and others, we published a paper in the PNAS on sciatica.
