The Importance of Women's Devotion
Patrick had to work very slowly because Ireland was divided into independent tribes. He could not cross tribal boundaries without having some sort of Irish nobleman with him. Eventually, he comes to count the sons and daughters of Irish kings among his followers. Women of all ranks prove a natural constituency for him. His message can sound austere to a modern ear. But dedicating oneself to Christ is an appealing option.
