The Block Chain Is a Mechanism for Creating a Trusted System
How do you get a large group of people to operate in a trusted system where we cannot assume trust or good behaviour by any one of them? That seems to be the central problem of political theory, right? It's what hobbs argues we solve through the leviathan. I think that the block chain is closer to hume. But it concerns a very small subset of the things that we need in society in order to guarantee peace and to guarantee non violence. You know, when it comes to giving a common ledger of who has a right to what, that thing is important. And this is where block is going to come into it on.
