Antigen Tests - Can They Tell You if You're Infected?
The virus starts to grow very quickly and within four or five days, you reach a peak of shedding. So that's the one kind of test we have. It can tell you if you're infected at the moment, but it won't tell you ifyou're going to be infected tomorrow. There are antigen tests which look for the proteins that the virus is making. And so these you combine the drugstore and these would have been great if they had Michael Mina last year had an idea: If we could make a little stick, a little piece of paper that you would suck on and it would tell you ifYou're infected or not - everybody could test them.
