The History of Crumb and Crumb With a Bee
In 15 forty seven, we have the first recorded use of the word crumble spelled with a bee. A couple of decades later, we have crumb with a bee at the end. Mistakes in the mid 15 hundreds also gave the words crumb and crumble theire modern bees. These types of pronunciation changes tend to mask just how common the new spellings were in the 15 hundreds.
