The History of Thucydides by Xenophon

Xenophon is evidently envisioning in his work as a continuation of Thucydides' history down to the Battle of Manta Nea in 362 BC. He intended to tell his readers some new things, but mainly he aimed to give them a familiar story with his own slant. After Book 2, it doesn't even seem like he is trying to write the same sort of history, and the style of this Greek is remarkably different too.
