Is History the Closest Discipline to History?

Power is central to almost any historical world view, no question about it. Historians are simply uncomfortable with abstraction. I would look at religion in a structurally analogous way to what i just said about the market. The difference between anthropology on the one hand and history on the other is that historians kick in as soon as we've got written materials.
