Does the Moon Have an Atmosphere?

There aren't many places in the solar system where we have had people take pictures, right? One of those, of course, is the moon. The reason the night sky and the moon is black is because there isn't a strong enough atmosphere there on the moon to scatter light. Sometimes it feels to me like a big part of science is just like arguing about what a definition is.
