The DRC Security Situation in a Moment of Desperation
Do Washington worry about Russia having a direct control over the world's main supplies of Cobol? It would. And perhaps that then changes some of the calculus on how different governments approach Congo. But I suspect that bringing Russia into the scenario would create a more complex, I guess, big power competition potentially in the East. That dynamic often puts off the public in terms of how it views all three big powers.
