Setting a Worthy Goal

In part, this is a reaction to the whole idea of smart goals. A friend of mine has spent 20 years talking to me about how she needs to write a book. She's got some great thoughts around this, but she's been putting it off for 20 years. And when we talked about thrilling, important, and daunting, she finally owned up to the fact that writing a book is thoroughly unthrilling for her. So I wanted to find an alternative to smart goals because as well as not quite being able to remember exactly what smart stands for,. One of the things that frustrated me about smart goals is it didn't speak to ambition.
