I've Been in the Dog Me Publishing Business for a Long Time Now.
I had a traditional contract first, then self published. I routinely adopt that with regard to film rights for my books as well. For instance, I prefer producers and other people books got to approach me because then you're in a very different dynamic than if you're shopping a book around Hollywood now of course,. don't always have that choice right but right that is the ideal situation to get in. And it's now quite accepted that people would go the self publishing route and then can then get a very lucrative traditional publishing deal and then go back and forth.
