Skepticism is a tactical deployment of arguments in order to cause a problem to stop. The later Puranists try and give examples like you could imagine a fire that burns down a forest and then burns itself out. And I think this is something that kind of happened earlier in Greek philosophy, too. Later Greek philosophy starts to get more interested in how can we know things?
