There are psychological effects of having power, or being in a position of power that can make us even less attuned to the influence that we have over other people. For example, there's work by adam glinski and his colleagues showing that people in positions of power are less likely to take the perspective of other people. There's also some research showing that people In positions of power tend to feel more like they can say no to things.
