Up video up date was acquired out of bankruptcy in two thousand one by a competitor, movie gallery. For two decades, jim and dave lozinski joined and operated their own video update store. Even as the company's fortune fell, the two applied for and received a lifetime franchise license to keep their business open. Couldn't keep up end of a lifetime. The writing was on the wall. I consurprise they've made it as long as they have. Ly got a nice little boost, i guess, this past year. Somehow. Viacom owns the block buster apparently.
