Phineas Finn is the second most beloved English writer of the 19th century. He worked as a postal surveyor which took him out into the countryside. His reputation was basically shot for like almost 70, 80 years. People thought he was a disreputable hack. And I think by now he is probably next to Dickens. But you know, I think Tolstoy is a greater writer and Dostoevsky is probably a greater writer than Shakespeare.
