The Bike

Do you think you're trying to upend or rework European portraiture? Not consciously, but because you know art history, it's hard not to like make those relations. For me, the bikes was a way to represent or at least just tilt my head towards that without fully taking it on. I'm also fascinated by this idea of like, you know, your work radiates this joyousness as well. If this color like pulsates off the canvas, I always feel like I have this pink glow when I'm looking at like a painting that has like a pink monochromatic background.
