The Importance of Imperialism
Nations with very little social cohesion began to expand themselves. People were not excited about joining a new country, especially if the nation that is arriving and colonizing is init self a chaotic. Because it didn't provide an actual seductive alternative to what the colonized people were living in, it would then just force its rule on them.
