The Importance of Doubt

After 25 years being an atheist, my doubt upon returning used to plague me at the point of despair, but doubt is actually engaging with Christ. I think we could kind of distinguish between like the sin of doubt and knowing that God has revealed something and then choosing to reject it. All of us have to try to do that. If you know God is speaking and you doubt it, then you're wrong to doubt it. That's different to trying to be critical and to believe what's true.
