There is nothing that does not serve a function in a paper or an other text, right? So essentially, if youre reaching people, then it must be doing its work. For some that metaphor brings clarity. And i think we've talked a littleabout off line, about the notion that decorations are actually functional. These touches in writing can omply that really important function of recruiting a reader and then retaining a reader. A touch like that, a nice metaphor, a humorous title, something like that, can actually bring a reader to your work.
