The Importance of Protein in Muscle Growth
"I really drive protein pretty high. I've had a couple 175 pounders eat up to like 275 grams of protein," says coach Chris Barricat. "Once calories get that high in a surplus, you need to continuously increase protein as well", he adds. A lot of my female athletes retain their muscle way better when dieting compared to males and honestly even kind of recomp during preps,. When it comes to my guys, I just want to preserve everything.
