The Power of Grief
I think there was almost a catharsis after losing my dad because it did, it was like it opened up a vein. And when grief is unaddressed and then piled upon, that's quite the unraveling. The whole vision for the series came about because of a conversation I'd had with somebody who had been part of Mars Hill. It just struck me, you know, when you see a story of a pastoral failure, like with Mark in particular, that it's a front page story in the New York Times before it kind of disappears.
