Turkey's Not Occupying Syria, We're Not Occupying This

The western media has been remarkably quiet about this mass ethnic cleansing of curds and all the atrocities i've read about. It just doesn't make it into the media out here in the west. What's driving so much of this is a sectarian and ethnic war. We can see syria, in some ways, as we can a rock, as little chunks of the ottoman empire, multi ethnic, multi religious empire which has been taken over by a new sultan. And they keep a very tight lid on it, and they run it as an empire, trading off between these different groups and playing one off against the other.
