How OCD Impairs Executive Functioning

Executive functioning is also something that we see is impacted by other neurodiverse conditions such as autism or ADHD. OCD can kind of be even considered neurodiverse because it really does impact this executive functioning in similar ways and impacts the way the brain functions. So our ability to set shifts, move between different tasks, leave things unfinished, stopping and starting things, being interrupted and being able to refocus. People with OCD tend to have low cognitive flexibility.
