The Four Kinds of Idols

Sir Francis Bacon thought that the one of the biggest idols was our love of comfort. He said we have a tendency, therefore, to believe what pleases us and appeals to us. And this, of course, leads to what he calls superstition or belief in a personal guide. It does occur to me that someone might need an order member who is interested in philosophy to lead a seminar studying these four classes of idols. Would be quite interesting in stimulating exercise.
