Sometimes you cannot remove an unflattering comparison. It's like too obvious an option. People are going to bring it up. If you don't bring it up, if that's the case, then you should try as much as possible to physically separate them or to separate them temporarily. The more stuff you could put in between those things, the harder that comparison will be.
