Paramedics and Burnout in the Emergency Room
Paramedics who delivered a greater number of death notifications had an increase, significantly increased odds of burnout. Study found that delivering more than fivedeath s in the past 12 months was associated with 73 % greater odds of burn out compared to their counterparts who didn't deliver any death notifications in that same period. And there is a recognition that not only is this communication significant and difficult for the informer, but the quality of the death notification might have lasting effects on the survivor's bereavement.
