The Importance of Rhetoric in the History of English
Milton is in one sense of the word rhetoric that term is not intended to be derogatory. Milton cares more about how things sound than if they actually convey what he's trying to convey. With shakespeare we have a mingling of all of the senses at once you were saying the other guy was dry then dry then drythen dry then that's just dry that board. The difference between milton and james joist is that joists imagine is not unnaturally uh not naturally so purely an auditory type as milton.
